*Reincarnation is the religious or philosophical concept that the soul or spirit, after biological death, begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life's actions.

This is today's topic. Reincarnation. I personally do not believe in anything, but I'm very open minded, and I do not judge people. Reincarnation is a cool concept to consider.
The thought of reincarnation is a fascinating one. I mean, think about it, if reincarnation were a possibility, we would have to watch our every action, every decision, everything! I mean, from what I understand about reincarnation, is that if a person is well behaved and treats others good, and are good themselves, they will be reincarnated in their next life as a being with good luck, and hardly any misfortune. However, if they are bad, and treat others bad, luck will not be on their side come their new life.
This is where Karma supposedly comes in.
*Karma in Indian religions is the concept of "action" or "deed", understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect.
Basically, do a good deed, and you build up good Karma. Do a bad one, and good Karma gets taken away. The more good karma you have, the better your next life will be, and vice versa.
But this would also mean, that your life isn't your own. It's your previous life's life, and so on.
Some people also believe that they have experienced occurrences that dealt directly with reincarnation. Dreaming for instance. People would have dreams and not recognize themselves or other people in the dreams.
Below is a quote from an article I read online, "Out of the Psychic Closet: Reincarnation Dreams
"Reincarnation dreams are easy to distinguish from other dreams because of setting details. You and others in the dream will likely wear unfamiliar clothing and the dreamscape will appear old or futuristic or foreign in some other way. You'll have a sense of yourself as someone else rather than as the dreaming self you're accustomed to identifying in your nightly excursions."
And honestly this makes sense. I can also say that I have had these types of dreams sometimes. I don't remember much from them, just that I felt out of place, and didn't know who I was or anyone else. I could not recognize my face or the language I spoke. I thought this was just because the night before I was watching a foreign film, but what do I know?
The above image is the title image for the movie, "CLOUD ATLAS". It deals with multiple story lines of certain people who, through time, are connected. It is a very good book turned movie that I suggest people read & watch.

It took me a year to return. I apologize for that. Everyone has family issues, right? I will try to post regularly.

My topic today is actually about dying stars, which die every day. It is unlikely that we will see a supernova in our lifetime, due to their long life span, some millions, even billions of years. However, here is a tidbit for you. If you didn't know already, we have, in our galaxy, one Red SuperGiant that may explode to a Supernova Type II. Or, it may already have exploded and we just don't know it yet.
From our Sun, it takes light about eight minutes to reach us, since its only 93 million miles away. But the Red SuperGiant is about 640 lightyears away. (That's roughly, 9,460,730,472,580,800 metres [exactly] times 640.)
This Red SuperGiant is called Betelgeuse and it lies in the Orion constellation. It is a possibility that Betelgeuse has already turned supernova and we're just waiting for it to reveal itself to us. It could show tomorrow, or in the next 1000 years.
But with every death of a star, births a new. In all sorts of nebulae stars are being born, nurtured by its surroundings, etc.-Meiko
Taking a break. Family vacation. Be back soon I guess.

And speaking of little green men. People of the internet, I welcome you to 'AREA 51'. Now, do you honestly believe that this place exist? Or that the Roswell UFO incident ever really happened? Why would you? I sure don't. I mean, would aliens really come thousands or billions of miles to earth to just 'crash land' and to be caught so easily by our 1940's government? For you people who don't know of the incident. *thank you wiki*
"The Roswell UFO Incident was the alleged recovery of extra-terrestrial debris, including alien corpses, from an object which crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, USA, on or about July 8, 1947. Since the late 1970s the incident has been the subject of intense controversy and the subject of conspiracy theories as to the true nature of the object which crashed. The United States military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named "Mogul"; however, many UFO proponents maintain that in fact a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover-up."
And then there is this so called 'alien autopsy'. Honestly, its a total hoax! *thanks wiki again* "The footage caused an international sensation when it aired on television networks around the world. In 2006, Santilli admitted that the film was mostly a reconstruction but continued to claim that it was based on genuine footage now lost (how convenient), and that some frames from the original remained"
I feel like this isn't true. Just something to scare the populous. What do you guys think?

The fight to find intelligent life out there in the universe is a scarce battle. But what if, one day, we do find life out there? In space. Not primordial life, no no no, that is completely different. They pose to threat to us. But think about it. Intelligent life. What if? I mean, would you be scared? Or would you be overjoyed because you know you're not alone in this vast universe? Personally I would be overjoyed. Just the thought of being able to find life out in the universe! Its not even that. To know that your planet is not the only one with life! On another note, we always perceived that 'aliens' from another planet were these little green men things with long fingers and bug eyes. Or (from the alien movie series) these savage beasts with no mercy. We have no idea what they will look like or how they would act! And the probability of them looking anything like us is either slim to nearly impossible. We just have these outrageous accusations and exaggerated stories about what they might look like, which probably started with a rumor gone bad. There is no way I believe that they are little green men.

You know what I don't get? There are supposed to be black holes all over the universe. Billions of them! They suck up anything they can find, to feed their infinite stomachs. One day the universe is going to be a cold, dead, and dry place. Not that its not cold and dry already, but dead. There is even suppose to be a Super Massive Black Hole in the center of our very own galaxy! So think about it, one day (possibly billions upon billions of years from now), our own galaxy is going to be sucked into that black hole.
Did you know that in January 2008, the largest known black hole in the universe was discovered? Its at 18 billion solar masses! It is located in the heart of a quasar called OJ287, it’s at a distance of 3.5 billion light years !
See, you guys learned something today. Don't say I don't teach you anything...
Does it stand to reason that the scale of intelligent life could be dramatically different on other, much larger earth like planets, or much smaller ones? Or do we have any reason to believe, based on our knowledge of physics, that there is some cosmological limit to the range of mass for complex life forms?
I wish that one day we can find a civilization out there, with intelligent life. It would be fantasitc.
"All paradises, all utopias are designed by who is not there, by the people who are not allowed in." - TONI MORRISON, Online NewsHour interview, Mar. 9, 1998
You wonder about life, and think if it will be like this forever? Will it be all about money, war, poverty, death? I was reading 'The Giver' by Lois Lowry today, and came to a thought. A utopian society does sound good. What if we did live in 'sameness'? Live in a peaceful, utopian community, where all possible steps were taken to eliminate pain or confusion. The family units would share their dreams and feelings on a daily basis to diffuse emotional buildup. Every family has a mother, father, and two children, one of each sex. Where everyone has his or her place in the world assigned according to gifts and interests. There is much laughter and obvious joy. There is no rudeness, no crime, no unemployment, No colors, no emotion, and no disease. Think about it, what if we lost violence, sadness, and loss, as well as true love, beauty, joy, adventure, animals, and family? Living in a perfect, utopian community, where there are no choices, no feelings, no, anything. Doesn't that sound like a great place to live in? Obviously that was sarcasm.
By the way, stop with the email messages about me not updating every day. I don't HAVE to update everyday you know. I somewhat have a life outside of my dorm room.
"It is possible to influence the world through the mind alone." - I forgot.
I've been doing some searches online about my 'superpower' and came to a conclusion. If I were to ever have a superpower of any kind, it would have to be Psychokinesis. How cool would that be? Having the telekinetic ability to move matter? Apparently, telekinesis is just apart of it. I mean, if I were really powerful, my telekinesis could expand to other mind controlling abilities.
There is also Pyrokinesis (Speed up the naturally occurring vibrations of atoms in matter to alter temperature, possibly to the point of ignition if combustible), and Cyrokinesis (Ability to reduce the kinetic energy of atoms and thus reduce temperature, can be used to control, generate, or absorb ice). And just to name a few, Self Levitation, Object Deformation, Biological Healing, Teleportation, Phasing, Transmutation, Shapes-shifting, Invisible energy Shields, Controlling Magnetic forces/devices, control of light waves/particles, Telepathic Projection, and so much more! But that is only if I was very powerful. If I just had the basic Telekinesis, it would just be the movement of matter (as in objects). Apparently performing telekinesis can do a lot of physical stress to the body.
If Psychokinesis were to really exist as 'claimed' by some experimenters, it would violate some well established laws of physics, including the inverse square law, the second law of thermodynamics and the conservation of momentum. I'm not saying that I do not believe in Parapsychology, but it is really hard to prove don't you think? Especially when people 'show' it off for money. Internationally, there are several individual skeptics of the paranormal and skeptics' organizations who offer cash prize money for demonstration of the existence of an extraordinary psychic power, such as Psychokinesis. So, it makes you wonder doesn't it?
Time to let the mind rest.

Another mystery thats been on my mind is, The Lost City of Atlantis. Everyone has heard the story, first mentioned by Plato. Here is Plato's introduction to Atlantis in 'Timaeus', first written in 360BC.
For it is related in our records how once upon a time your State stayed the course of a mighty host, which, starting from a distant point in the Atlantic ocean, was insolently advancing to attack the whole of Europe, and Asia to boot. For the ocean there was at that time navigable; for in front of the mouth which you Greeks call, as you say, 'the pillars of Heracles,' there lay an island which was larger than Libya and Asia together; and it was possible for the travelers of that time to cross from it to the other islands, and from the islands to the whole of the continent over against them which encompasses that veritable ocean. For all that we have here, lying within the mouth of which we speak, is evidently a haven having a narrow entrance; but that yonder is a real ocean, and the land surrounding it may most rightly be called, in the fullest and truest sense, a continent. Now in this island of Atlantis there existed a confederation of kings, of great and marvelous power, which held sway over all the island, and over many other islands also and parts of the continent.
Over the years, the idea of a lost continent became geologically impossible, due to the widely increased understanding of plate tectonics around the 1960s. There have been dozens of locations prophesied for Atlantis over the passed hundred years. A lot of people actually believe that Atlantis is not in the Atlantic after all. Most of these locations were thought of by psychics or other pseudoscientific means, though many of these proposed locations, share the same exact characteristics of what happened to Atlantis, a catastrophic end.
Many people today believe that Atlantis was once an advance civilization. This was mentioned by Edgar Cace, a psychic, who suggested that it was originally a continent-sized region extending from the Azores to the Bahamas, holding an ancient, highly evolved civilization which had ships and aircraft powered by a mysterious form of energy crystal. He also predicted that parts of Atlantis would rise in 1968 or 1969.
In 1968, it actually happened. The Bimini Road is an underwater rock formation, of large rectangular stones, near North Bimini island in the Bahamas, that was founded by J. Manson Valentine.
It will never go away you know, Atlantis will always be thought of as a large continent with an advance civilization, that will never be found.
